Let’s Learn Irish is a DC/Ireland based organization focused on fostering an appreciate of and fluency in Irish Gaelic not to mention aiding students in passing various levels of the TEG exam. This past term I was asked to develop a singing course focused on traditional songs in Irish and it was enthusiastically received! Second term is coming up and as a result of the popularity of the first class, we’ll be offering TWO singing classes this term starting the WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2nd! Brian is a highly accomplished singer from the Irish tradition singing in both English and Irish languages. His work with Chicago-based ensemble Bua (Seán Gavin, Devin Shepherd, Brian Miller) and singing mentor Len Graham has afforded him opportunities to perform and teach throughout North America and Ireland. His particular affinity for Irish language song stems from his early exposure to the Irish speaking communities of the Great Lakes region. This session welcomes singers from the North Atlantic Fringe countries with special enthusiasm for Irish & Scottish Gaelic song traditions as well songs from Scandinavia and the Canadian and American Maritime traditions.

This event is supported in part by Brian’s affiliation with Let’s Learn Irish, a DC based organization promoting the learning and speaking of Irish worldwide through online classes and engaging, community building activities. He recently finished teaching LLI’s first ever ‘Songs of Irish’ with great success.
